Duke Robillard & Linda Peduzzi Art at Hoxie Gallery in November

10/6/2019

Picture

Paintings by master blues musician, Duke Robillard and Pawcatuck artist Linda Peduzzi on display in The Hoxie Gallery, top floor of the library.

After nearly fifty years of traveling the world making music and playing with many of his heroes, a shoulder injury put a halt to Duke Robillard's musical creativity for over a year. To fulfill the need for creative expression, Duke started painting, finding inspiration in abstract impressionism and a great satisfaction in bringing to life the more visual side of his creativity. What started as a way to fill a void soon became a serious practice. Duke's imaginative and colorful paintings show that his natural talent and curiosity imbues all aspects of his life.

Pawcatuck artist Linda Peduzzi portrays mood and feeling through her paintings of abstract florals, landscapes and colorful pattern. She works primarily in oils and mixed media, using memory and direct observation. Recently retired, she enjoys the luxury of stepping outside into her yard, pausing to watch the motions of birds, insects and plants, before going back to the studio to paint. She also enjoys traveling to paint in new spots or attend art retreats.

Frame of Mind Article - a Blast from the Past

8/18/2017

In June of 2011 I had a solo art show at Classic Framers called Frame of Mind. It was an exciting show for me. I sold some pieces, which is always a nice thing, but what made it so exciting was what it represented - my sense that I was in the right place, at the right time, in the right frame of mind. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful article written about the show by a talented artist and writer, Millie Donovan. Here is the link to Millie's piece:  patch.com/connecticut/stonington/finding-refuge-in-the-art-of-linda-peduzzi

Well, that was a long winter! Snow's wonderful and all that, but I am so glad to see the daffodils and feel the warmer wind. Time for change and there are many events and opportunities to show work. Two of my favorite galleries are having events:

The Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly
is receiving work this weekend, Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, the 26 for the annual Regional Show. For more info & a prospectus click on the link:

http://www.westerlyarts.com/regional-art-show.html

The Hera Gallery of Wakefield, Rhode Island is having a fundraiser this Sunday, April 26 at the Farmer's Daughter, one of the best places to get all your gardening plants, supplies and inspiration.

On a musical note, Richard Thompson is playing at Toad's Place in New Haven and then in Pawtucket this coming week.

Feed the arts muse with some wonderful food for the soul - there's so much happening in our beautiful part of the earth!

Wild, wonderful winter

1/3/2015

The season's first snow started this afternoon, and is now a blowing, cold, dark rain - wonderful to be in a cozy, woodstove heated house. Welcome winter!

Speaking of winter, in the snow-driven White Mountains of New Hampshire, there is a gorgeous art gallery -  The Cassidy Gallery at Jackson Village. Nancy White Cassidy, artist & owner of the gallery, has created an amazing venue featuring fine art work of contemporary New England artists and artisans and I am delighted to be a part of it. A view of the wall with my new work, below. Check out the website and if you're going to the North Country, be sure to stop by the gallery.
