In June of 2011 I had a solo art show at Classic Framers called Frame of Mind. It was an exciting show for me. I sold some pieces, which is always a nice thing, but what made it so exciting was what it represented - my sense that I was in the right place, at the right time, in the right frame of mind. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful article written about the show by a talented artist and writer, Millie Donovan. Opening night for my new solo show 'From the Root Up' is on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Classic Framers in Westerly, Rhode Island, 5 - 8 pm. First Friday of the month is also the Artists Cooperative Gallery of Westerly monthly opening - make a night of art and good food. Westerly has some terrific restaurants. See you at the show!
Saturday, October 15, 2016 - On this beautiful fall day I will be giving an artist talk & demo in oils/mixed media at the Cassidy Gallery at Jackson Village. The gallery carries fine art and gifts by over 45 New England artists. See you there! http://www.cassidygallery.com/index.html
Westerly has terrific restaurants all over town - The Cooked Goose is one of those. It's a great spot for breakfast and lunch and until the end of February I have several pieces of art on display there. Next time you're on your way to beautiful Napatree Point for a wintry walk along the water, stop by The Goose and make it a great culinary and cultural day!
I am happy to announce a new opening of some of my recent work, at Classic Framers in Westerly Rhode Island - Friday, June 5, 2015. Starts at 5 pm and ends around 8. Classic Framers is located at 2 High Street, near the fountain. Phone 401-596-6820.
Lots to do on a Friday night in downtown Westerly - the Artists Cooperative Gallery of Westerly also has their monthly opening (first Friday of every month) and there are lots of great restaurants. And there is always the Knickerbocker for great music.
Hope to see you at the opening!
Well, that was a long winter! Snow's wonderful and all that, but I am so glad to see the daffodils and feel the warmer wind. Time for change and there are many events and opportunities to show work. Two of my favorite galleries are having events:
The Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly is receiving work this weekend, Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, the 26 for the annual Regional Show. For more info & a prospectus click on the link:
The Hera Gallery of Wakefield, Rhode Island is having a fundraiser this Sunday, April 26 at the Farmer's Daughter, one of the best places to get all your gardening plants, supplies and inspiration.
On a musical note, Richard Thompson is playing at Toad's Place in New Haven and then in Pawtucket this coming week.
Feed the arts muse with some wonderful food for the soul - there's so much happening in our beautiful part of the earth!
The season's first snow started this afternoon, and is now a blowing, cold, dark rain - wonderful to be in a cozy, woodstove heated house. Welcome winter!
Speaking of winter, in the snow-driven White Mountains of New Hampshire, there is a gorgeous art gallery - The Cassidy Gallery at Jackson Village. Nancy White Cassidy, artist & owner of the gallery, has created an amazing venue featuring fine art work of contemporary New England artists and artisans and I am delighted to be a part of it. A view of the wall with my new work, below. Check out the website and if you're going to the North Country, be sure to stop by the gallery.
